Benefits of Taking Professional Driving Lessons
When you start on the road to learning to drive a car, choosing someone to teach you, in this instance, will be the first major decision you will have to make. Essentially, you have two choices, either a friend/family member or a qualified driving instructor.
Whilst friends and family will have the best intentions in the world - and they will be keen to teach you - before you even turn the key in the ignition you are likely to commit several minor faults and, you will learn some bad habits along the way. It is also vital to understand that there is no `fast track` method of learning how to drive and the last thing you need to be thinking is, "lets get this over quickly so that I can get my licence" because the simple fact is; you won`t, you will simply continue to fail your test.
Attitude (which will be further explored later) plays a very important role when learning how to drive and opting to be taught by a professional driving instructor is - without any doubt - the best decision you will make. There is a tried and proven method of teaching a person how to drive, there are objectives to be accomplished through systematic teaching which only a qualified instructor can convey to his or her pupil. Therefore, when you go for your test, what you have learnt to become a competent and safe driver is just what the examiner is looking for.
In collaboration with the DSA, insurance companies and driving instructors, a `Pass plus Scheme` was designed to assist newly qualified drivers to further develop there acquired skills. Consisting of six modules ; driving in town, in all weathers, on rural roads, at night, dual carriageways and motorways the purpose is to build on what you have learnt and to improve on your competence adding up to safer driving. It is also encouraging to learn is that those very expensive insurance premiums are radically reduced for any new drivers with a pass plus course qualification.
With the right attitude you will become a safer and considerate driver. Attitude towards wanting to learn, towards other road users and your behaviour behind the wheel all improve the chances of you and others arriving alive. Every year there are around 3000 fatalities involving vehicles on our roads, of that approximately 25% involve drivers under the age of 25 by risk taking, speeding, drugs/alcohol, showing off and being generally oblivious to the fact that this type of behaviour can so easily end in tragedy. Road rage has become all too familiar these days and this is a direct result of bad attitude and impatience. This is far from restricted to young drivers. However, many of the incidents that happen on the roads are as a result of youthful impatience, wanting to get from A to B as fast as possible without the `inconvenience` of other road users.
Much as you may be eagerly anticipating the day when - new licence in hand - you can start to look at http://www.motormart.co.uk/search, when you are learning and in the many years to come, always remember the need to drive carefully and `Arrive Alive`!
