Meet the Team
The Monarch Driving School Team
Chelsea Booth - Driving School Director and Driving Instructor in St Helens
I qualified as a driving instructor in 2007 and ever since then teaching people to drive is a real passion of mine. I think the dedication to providing honest services has paid off and I love working with my colleagues who have the same work ethics as I do. I think that learning to drive should be fun and enjoyable, we all learn better when we enjoy ourselves.
Emma Cottington - PA to Director and Driving Instructor in St Helens
Becoming a driving instructor was something I wanted to do from the moment I started to learn to drive 9 years ago. I loved to drive and that atttitude never went once I passed my driving test so I wanted to share that passion and pass it on to people who wanted to learn to drive just like I did. So as soon as I was old enough and had held my licence long enough I began my driving instructor training and worked very hard to achieve my dream job. At the time I had a full time job as a store manager in retail and I had a very young baby, but with the support from my husband and family I soon qualified and chose to work with Chelsea and the Monarch Driving School team as they have the same passion as I do. Now I am part of a team who work very well together to deliver an excellent service, I love my work.
Jackie Morrison - Driving Instructor St Helens
When I qualified as a driving instructor in 2009 I decided to work with Monarch Driving School rather than on my own and have learned as much working with Chelsea and the team as what I did in my initial training. I have a fantastic pass rate as a result. I am thrilled with choosing to be a driving instructor and with the benefits of working in a friendly team; this in return benefits my pupils. Previously I was a pub manager for a while whilst I did my driving instructor training and before that I was a member of the Excel Airways Cabin Crew which was also a fantastic job as I got to travel the world. These days I am satisfied with travelling around St Helens instead - I don't get jet lag from doing that!
Karl Jones - Driving Instructor Liverpool
I qualified as a driving instructor in 2009. Got into it because it seemed like a good idea at the time. It turns out I was wrong...it was a FANTASTIC idea! I love the job and there is no better feeling than getting a pupil through their driving test (except, of course, if you are that pupil passing their test). I love meeting people from all walks of life and adopt an approach that learning to drive should be fun and fulfilling for both pupil and driving instructor. I regard myself as very open, honest and reliable (just like your very own pet dog but without all the slobbering and walkies).Outside of work I do lots of dull and very uninteresting things that involve no physical exercise whatsoever. Joined the Monarch team in October 2010 and haven't looked back since (except when I'm in the car).
Howard Lewis - Driving Instructor Wigan
I have always enjoyed driving and after assisting my daughter to pass her driving test I realised how much I enjoyed teaching her I decided to get my Driving Instructor qualifications which I did in 2006, it has been brilliant since. The satisfaction of seeing the excitement when someone passes their driving test is a great pleasure.
Like the other driving instructor's of the Monarch team I believe whilst driving is a very serious 'business' I consider learning to drive should be fun, enjoyable and that you should look forward to your driving lessons. My patience is endless. . . (honest), your driving lessons will be constructed to your pace and needs, and in a friendly atmosphere.
I do like to watch most sports mainly football and rugby. (please make note of the word 'watch'). So, occasionally you may get a whinge at the end of the lesson about Bolton Wanderers ;)
Paul Roylance - Driving Instructor Warrington
I became a driving instructor in 2009 and haven't looked back since, I had wanted to give driving lessons for as long as I can remember and was delighted when I had the chance to train. I know it is what I was meant to do. When I was given the opportunity to join Monarch Driving School I grabbed it with both hands. I thrive on being member of a winning team, seeing pupils progress and the look on there faces when they pass their driving test is the icing on the cake for me.
Bri Smith - Driving Instructor Liverpool
Originally from the North East of England, I came to Liverpool in 2004. I worked at Nissan in Sunderland where I was a test driver but the job didn't give me any challenge or job satisfaction. Looking for a change in career I decided to put my 21 years driving experience to good use. As soon as I qualified to be a driving instructor I knew I had made the correct decision. The best part about this job is the look on someones face when they pass their driving test.
Sue Lees - Driving Instructor St Helens
I have been a driving instructor in St Helens for the last ten years and find it very rewarding teaching my pupils a new life skill. I enjoy meeting people and I like to get to know my pupils, our driving lessons are fun and relaxed. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family.
Colette Donnelly - Driving Instructor St Helens
Hi my name is Colette and have been a driving instructor in St Helens for 8 years. I really enjoy my work and wouldn't change it for the world. There is nothing quite like the sense of satisfaction and achievement that I feel when I have taught a pupil from scratch and then see them pass their driving test. In my spare time I am very much into sport and enjoy spending time with my family
